How IPL Therapy Works
Provided as one of several non-invasive alternatives to the traditional facelift, IPL therapy is designed to rejuvenate facial skin. Like microdermabrasion or skin resurfacing, it is most commonly recommended to diminish signs of wrinkles, dark circles under the eyes, and common skin conditions such as rosacea, redness, hyperpigmentation, and even dilated blood vessels.
However, unlike these other treatments, IPL uses lasers rather than a mechanical abrasion. Concentrated beams of light are guided across facial areas in a completely non-invasive procedure. The energy that is focused onto the skin only penetrates the top layers, helping to treat skin conditions at the source and result in a more refreshed look and a more even tone to the skin. Our Fairfield County IPL procedures usually take no longer than 30 minutes to complete and there is typically very little discomfort associated with the treatment.
