Blend Your Way To Glowing Skin

We know that good skin always starts from within.  Yes, using good products on your skin is essential, but so is what you put in your body.  Eating right, staying out of the sun, and getting enough sleep are definitely keys to good skin as well, but all that can be cancelled out by what we allow to pass our lips!  

With people being busier than ever, juggling home, work, kids and more leaves little time to focus on good nutrition.  However, with a little bit of advanced prep you can start your day off with a vitamin and mineral packed smoothie that you can take with you!  This smoothie is loaded with vitamin A, B and C, amino acids, antioxidants, carotenoids (shown to protect skin, tissue, and cells from toxins), omega 3's which reduce inflammation, and good for you potassium, manganese, biotin (great for skin and nails!) and folate.  The addition of avocado adds a healthy fat which is good for you and also contains vitamin K, B and C.  Coconut water is hydrating and rich in B vitamins, and full of amino acids and antioxidants

Get that blender out and freeze up some fresh fruits for a power packed, good for your skin, energizing smoothie!  This recipe calls for fresh fruit that has been chopped into chunks and frozen.  Freezing the fruit makes the smoothie thick and frosty!  Feel free to substitute different fruits according to your own tastes. 

Ready, set, blend your way to glowing skin! 



2 frozen ripe bananas

1 cup frozen pineapple 

1/2 cup coconut water

1 cup fresh spinach 

1 cup frozen mango 

1/2 avocado 

1 Tbsp flaxseed oil 

1/2 cup frozen blueberries 

Blend and serve!
