Laser Vein Removal

As people grow older, they may notice an increase in the appearance of veins on their face and body. Spider veins (collections of bluish or reddish veins that can be seen on the surface of the skin) and varicose veins (swollen veins or blood vessels that bulge and can be seen on the surface of the skin) can prove unsightly and cause a person to become self-conscious about his or her appearance.

To treat these unsightly veins, we offer laser vein removal at our office in Darien, Connecticut near New York. Laser vein removal is a state-of-the-art, non-invasive treatment with results similar to traditional vein removal options such as sclerotherapy.

The laser used during the vein removal procedure produces an intense but gentle burst of laser light. This laser light heats the blood in the treatment area, which the spider vein absorbs. The appearance of the vein will gradually shrink until it disappears. With varicose veins, an alternate procedure is used in which the laser light is channeled directly through the vein, shrinking the vein and diverting blood flow into healthy veins nearby.

Laser vein removal treatment is safer than traditional methods of vein removal because of its unique ability to selectively treat the veins without adversely affecting the surrounding tissue.

Laser Removal of Brown Spots

The laser used in this particular procedure will treat lentigo, age and liver spots, freckles, and brown birthmarks by targeting the brown cells and leaving the normal skin intact. Most lesions fade away with one treatment, however, this varies from one patient to another.
