Radiesse®

Radiesse® is an injectable filler that is effective in filling the lines and folds of the face. Radiesse® is composed of an organic compound combined with a water-based gel, forming a creamy gel substance. Once injected into the skin, Radiesse® takes on the textural characteristics of the surrounding tissue, never becoming hard or unnatural feeling.

Radiesse® can be used to treat frown lines and is especially effective in treating nasolabial folds, the creases that run from the nose to the corners of the mouth. An additional benefit of Radiesse® is its long-lasting effects. Patients can undergo Radiesse® by itself or in conjunction with another skin rejuvenation or plastic surgery procedure, such as a traditional facelift or mid-facelift, which may allow them to achieve optimal results for the whole face. Obagi Blue Peel®

Our office offers many types of skin rejuvenation techniques, including chemical skin peels with various types of gentle acids that smooth and regenerate your own collagen. The Obagi Blue Peel®, a new type of skin peel, uses trichloroacetic acid (TCA) to improve fine lines, superficial scars, and discolored skin. Safe for all skin types, the Obagi Blue Peel® exfoliates dead skin cells and allows new, healthy ones to emerge. The result is smoother, tighter, more youthful-looking skin. Patients with wrinkles, sun damage, and acne may experience especially good results with the Obagi Blue Peel®.

Based on the condition of your skin, Dr. Fredric Newman will apply one to four layers of the TCA mixed with a blue solution and allow it to penetrate for about 30 minutes. The blue tint turns progressively darker, allowing Dr. Newman to gauge when the peel is complete. As each coat is applied, the solution soaks deeper and deeper into the skin. Each application strips off a thin surface layer of damaged skin, restoring clarity, tone, and smooth texture to your face. Other Chemical Peels

At our Connecticut- and New York-area cosmetic surgery center, treatments are available for all skin types, including mature, sensitive, oily, dry, and acne-prone. We offer many types of chemical skin peels, including glycolic, argenine, salicylic, and lactic acid to smooth and regenerate your own collagen. The latest advances in skin care show clearly that to prevent problems so prevalent with aging skin (wrinkles, sagging, hyperpigmentation, scarring, and dull or dry skin), you must have a monthly peel.

A chemical peel removes the uppermost layer of dead skin cells that have an average turnover rate of every 35 days. If not removed regularly, this layer can lead to excess blemishes via clogged pores. Oxygen, serums, and moisturizers will not be able to penetrate its surface. At The Aesthetic Surgery Center, we offer standard papaya or pumpkin peels in addition to deeper Obagi® Blue Peels.

Papaya or Pumpkin Peel

Using organic enzyme peels made of fruits, we gently lift dead cells off the skin. During this procedure at our cosmetic surgery center, you will have a soothing facial massage. The treatment will conclude with the application of a serum made for your skin type, a moisturizer, and an SPF lotion.

Facials

When starting a good skin care regime, it is a good idea to begin with a deep cleansing facial. To supplement your regimen, you should have facials three times a year. Most of the facials at our Darien, Connecticut- and New York-area cosmetic surgery center consist of a deep cleansing; a steam treatment to remove impurities and open the pores to prepare for extractions; a fruit peel; a massage of the face, neck, décolleté (neckline), and hands; a mask specifically formulated for your skin type; and a finishing serum and SPF. Our facials are deeply relaxing.

Deep Cleansing Facial

This basic deep cleansing facial is recommended for those who have not had a recent deep cleansing and for those with clogged pores and acne-prone skin. There is no massage with this facial.

Manuka Honey Facial

This rare honey, rich in nutrients and anti-aging factors, only grows in New Zealand. This type of facial is moisturizing and soothing and is recommended at our cosmetic surgery center for those with sensitive skin, rosacea, eczema, or acne.

Eminence of Hungary Facial

This luxurious treatment uses organic whipped fruits and herbs. Richly scented sour cherry and peach masks, lemon cleansers, wild plum moisturizers, and The Aesthetic Surgery Center's famous hot paprika mask are used to produce glowing, smooth skin.

Vitamin C Facial

For skin stressed by daily life, pollution, poor eating and sleeping habits, and more, this facial will recharge skin and infuse it with a dose of vitamin C for a return to vitality.

Body Treatments

In addition to the facials and chemical skin peels offered at our New York- and Connecticut-area office, we offer body treatments. Try either a detox body wrap or a back "facial" to restore healthy skin to the rest of your body.

Deep Moor Mud Detox Body Wrap

For centuries, Europeans have known the benefits of moor mud. It has the rich benefits of flora and fauna that have turned into a mineralized "soup" over many years. Our moor is rare Tiefen moor, which has no contact with any pollution as it is found very deep within the moor's layers. It is wonderful for fighting cellulite. At the beginning of your treatment, you will be dry brushed. A special seaweed serum and essential oils will then be applied, and your body will be covered with warm mud. You will relax under a heated blanket and wake up feeling revitalized, with smooth, fresh skin.

Back "Facial"

The skin on your back is usually neglected, in part because it is so difficult to reach. After a dry brushing and exfoliating fruit peel, you will receive a back massage with warm shea butter scented with essential oils. Silky skin will return.
