At The Aesthetic Surgery Center, cosmetic breast procedures such as breast enlargement and lift are some of the most requested surgical options we offer. The frequently asked questions below are a good starting point for information on these procedures. You may also contact our plastic surgery office to schedule a consultation to learn more about breast enlargement or other options at our Connecticut office, located just outside of New York.
Cosmetic breast enhancement can do wonders for your body and your self-esteem. Options such as breast augmentation, breast reduction, and breast lift can help you achieve breasts that are more proportionate to your body – and help you turn your dreams of what your ideal body can look like into a reality.
Dr. Fredric Newman only uses the safest technology in all of his cosmetic surgeries, including the breast enlargement procedure. All materials at our Connecticut- and New York-area facility are FDA-approved for cosmetic enhancements. Dr. Newman mainly uses saline breast implants in his breast augmentation procedures. Saline implants are filled with a saltwater solution, which is easily and safely absorbed by the body in the event of a leak. However, silicone implants are approved by the FDA and are available at our center. Contact our office for a breast enlargement consultation to determine which type of breast implants is best suited to your unique goals.
Risks of breast enlargement include rippling, numbness, implant leaks, displaced implants, hardening of the breast due to capsular contracture (tightening of the capsule surrounding the implant), asymmetry, and others. During your initial consultation, Dr. Newman will meticulously outline both the risks and benefits of breast enhancement surgery to help you make an informed decision.
In any surgical procedure, some scarring is inevitable. However, Dr. Newman is well-trained in advanced scar-minimizing techniques and can conceal scars by making small incisions in inconspicuous locations. Patients who visit our cosmetic surgery center for breast enlargement and other procedures will be able to discuss incision locations in detail with Dr. Newman. If you are concerned about residual scarring after breast enlargement or another procedure, contact our office serving Connecticut and New York.
Yes. Dr. Fredric Newman can rebuild the breasts after a mastectomy with a variety of breast reconstruction techniques, including implant placement. State-of-the-art advances in cosmetic surgery enable Dr. Newman to construct a new breast that is both natural-looking and natural-feeling.
In some cases, a woman's ability to breast-feed can be affected by having breast enlargement surgery. Patients expecting to breast-feed in the future should communicate their plans with Dr. Newman at the initial consultation. Contact Dr. Newman for more information about pregnancy issues and breast-feeding after cosmetic surgery.
Breast implants will only affect mammograms in cases where the breast implants have been placed over the chest muscle (subglandular implantation). In these instances an additional view during the mammogram must be performed at a radiology center by trained technicians. An accurate mammogram reading for subglandular breast implant patients will require additional x-rays taken from various angles. However, 98 percent of Dr. Newman's breast enlargement patients have breast implants placed under the chest muscle (submuscular implantation), and in these cases additional mammogram views are typically not necessary.
Some breast reduction, breast reconstruction, and breast revision procedures may be covered by insurance, however most cosmetic enhancement procedures are not covered unless they are deemed a medical necessity. There are a number of financing options available to offset breast surgery costs.
Please contact our plastic surgery office if you have any questions about our procedures or if you would like to schedule a breast enlargement or enhancement consultation. Our New York- and Connecticut-area office draws local patients from Fairfield County, Westchester County, Darien, and surrounding areas, as well as national and international patients.
